What is your favourite ever West Ham kit?
|
Some of my ramblings on the new kit thread got me thinking about which is my favourite ever kit. Seen as there's always a lot of talk every year it comes out- lots of negative as well as positive. Just wondering what everyone's favourites are? Thought it was a decent topic as there's not a great deal else going on at this time of year...
As it was all basically identical up to 1976, shall we say post then? Handy page with all of them (home at least) is located here: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/West_Ham_United/West_Ham_United.htm
In terms of home kit, I think the 2001 Fila, and the Farewell Boleyn ones. Probably because they have that classic look. Honourable mention to the 1976 and 1980 ones. Even though it's not a particularly 'nice' one, I do have a soft spot for the 2003 kit. My 'lucky' top is a long sleeved version of that. (Been worn to two playoff final victories)
With away kits, obviously the Argentina one. i also really liked the one we wore in the 2006 FA Cup final and the 2010 one.
Anyone else?

Definitely Fila 2001 kit, simple and pure class. Decent sponsor too in Dr Martens!
I also liked the recent Adidas white away kit.

Favourite was the kit of the early 70s. Strong colours, pure West Ham United.
Hate all the chevron kits. No team wearing chevrons has ever won anything.

For a vintage shirt I think the TOFFS ones are much better quality - our clubshop does them now and doesn't let TOFFS use the WH name...so they call it Thames Ironworks instead...
I know the cash goes to club but they are not as good...
